STAT: Nominations for Editor-in-Chief

International Statistical Institute (ISI)
invites nominations for a new Editor-in-Chief of STAT.

STAT (published by Wiley) on behalf of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) has a unique publication scope designed for the rapid dissemination of high-quality, compact research across all areas of statistics. The journal has a broad scope in statistics and probability, encompassing foundational theory, novel methodologies, computational statistics, and applied statistical research. It places a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary research, welcoming papers that apply innovative statistical frameworks to applied quantitative fields such as data science, machine learning, and AI.

The journal currently operates under the leadership of Professor Holger Dette. The new Editor-in-Chief will serve a four-year term, starting officially on 1 January 2027.  To facilitate the transition, the new EiC will start handling papers on 1 October 2026 in cooperation with the current EiC.  We seek world-renowned leaders in statistics and probability with a solid record of editorial experience and a compelling vision for both the journal and the field. Nominees must be current ISI members.

Please send nominations to Professor Hao Helen Zhang, Chair of the ISI Publications Committee, at haozhang@arizona.edu. Each nomination should include the nominee’s name and affiliation. Additional relevant information such as a CV or website link would be greatly appreciated.

The deadline for nominations is 10 August 2026.
