Ron Buckmire, Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs (ADCA) and Director of the Core Program at Occidental College, has just been appointed as the first-ever vice president for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), the world’s largest professional association devoted to applied mathematics.

Professor Buckmire is a member of the editorial board of Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations.
