The Royal Statistical Society invites you to join our next online Discussion Meeting on Wednesday 11 May at 3pm with introductory pre-meeting (DeMO) at 2pm (UK time).
Authors Karl Rohe and Muzhe Zeng from the University of Wisconsin-Madison will present their paper ‘Vintage Factor Analysis with Varimax Performs Statistical Inference’ for reading. The paper will be published in Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Series B.
All details and the preprint paper can be found at RSS – Discussion paper meetings
We welcome contributions to the discussion following the presentation of the paper. Please let Judith Shorten (j.shorten@rss.org.uk) know in advance if you would like to reserve a speaking slot (up to 5 minutes) so that your name can be called.
Anyone can contribute during the open session that follows; we’ll do our best to fit everyone into the time allowed.
The event is free, but you must register to receive the joining instructions.

Written contributions:
We welcome contributions to the discussion in writing up to two weeks after the meeting. Any received before 11 May will be made available for reading at the meeting if time allows though we encourage people to attend if possible.
Written comments should not exceed 400 words in length (not including any tables, reference details and figures). Please add the following information to the beginning of your contribution:
* the author(s) and title of the paper under discussion
* your name, title, affiliation and email address (for receiving proofs)
Your written contribution must be in editable format (Word doc or LaTeX) and please supply a PDF copy for review and include a separate PDF file for each figure. Send direct to j.shorten@rss.org.uk before 10 June 2022. This deadline is important to help the authors of the paper, who will consider all the contributions and compose a reply in limited time. A condition of publication of your contribution is that you assign copyright to the Society.
