The Royal Statistical Society has launched a call for a themed issue of the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series A (Statistics in Society).
The title will be Big Data Meets Survey Science.
Surveys have long been the primary source of data collection about peoples’ attitudes, beliefs, and opinions and are useful for measuring specific information about individuals, as well as understanding public opinions and creating accurate and precise official statistics. Recently, artefacts of our increasingly digital lives have offered additional, broader information about our behaviours in the form of “big data”. These two sources of information have great potential to complement one another to allow scientists to better understand people and the world in which we live. This themed issue of the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Series A, is dedicated to solutions to these challenges, through innovative methodological developments and applications, bringing together computer science and social science.
The deadline for submissions is 15 January 2021. More information on the themed issue and on submission of papers can be found here.
