International Statistical Institute Invites Nominations for Editor-in-Chief of Stat

The International Statistical Institute (ISI) invites nominations for Editor-in-Chief of the journal Stat.

Launched in 2012, Stat is an innovative electronic journal for the rapid publication of novel and topical research results. The journal publishes compact articles of the highest quality in all areas of statistical research. Its purpose is to provide a means of rapidly sharing important new theoretical, methodological and applied research. Stat is a joint venture between the ISI and Wiley. 

Stat is characterized by:

  • Speed – a high quality review process that aims to publish within 20 days of submission.
  • Concision – a maximum article length of 10 pages of text, not including references.
  • Support: inclusion of electronic support materials including data, graphs, images, and software.
  • Scope: addresses all areas of statistics and interdisciplinary areas.

The ISI is grateful to the current Editor-in-Chief Professor Helen Zhang for her leadership and commitment to the ongoing success of Stat. Professor Zhang’s current term ends at the end of 2022.

The new Stat Editor-in-Chief will serve from January 2023 to December 2026. Preparation for the editor transition may start as early as 1 September 2022.  The Editor-in-Chief must be a member of the ISI and must be a world-renowned leader in research and also be knowledgeable in the use of information technology for electronic publication.

Nominations should be sent to Professor Xuming He, Chair of the ISI Publications Committee, xmhe@umich.edu. The nomination should include the name, contact information and a link to a CV which includes research and organizational background and editorial experience of the nominee. 

The deadline for nominations is 30 April 2022.
