SIS 2026 is the 53rd edition of the Scientific Meeting of the Italian Statistical Society. This edition will mark a particularly important occasion, as it will coincide with the 1st edition of the Scientific Meeting of the European Statistical Societies, promoted by FENStatS (Federation of European National Statistical Societies) — the first event of its kind ever organized at the European level. The Joint Meeting SIS-FENStatS 2026 will take place in Rome at the Department of Statistical Sciences, Sapienza University of Rome, from 22 to 25 June 2026.
The meeting will bring together scholars, researchers, professionals, and representatives from national and international institutions, offering a unique opportunity to discuss methodological advancements, innovative applications, and current challenges in statistical science.
The scientific program will include plenary sessions, specialized tracks, contributed presentations, as well as side events and initiatives aimed at fostering scientific collaboration among national and European communities.
The main conference venue will be the Città Universitaria, located at Piazzale Aldo Moro 5, primarily in buildings CU002 and CU007. It is situated in the heart of Rome, well connected to public transportation and within easy reach of hotels and other facilities. The Città Universitaria is the historic main campus of Sapienza University of Rome, one of the oldest and largest universities in Europe. Founded in the 1930s, the campus hosts numerous faculties, research centers, and institutional buildings, and is today a vibrant academic hub serving tens of thousands of students and scholars.
