ASA announces director candidates for 2015

The American Statistical Association has announced the selection of candidates for their Board of Directors. The successful candidates will begin their terms next year. Voting will commence at midnight on 14th March and end at 11.59pm PDT on 3rd May.

The various roles include those of President-Elect, Vice President, Publications Board Representative, Council of Chapters Board Representative and Council of Sections Board Representative, amongst others in various other sections.

Amongst the candidates are Iain Johnstone of Stanford University for President-Elect, who has written various publications for Wiley, including for the Wiley Series in Probability and Statistics, Encyclopedia of Statistical Sciences and the Journals of the Royal Statistical Society; Devan V. Mehrotra of the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylania for Vice President who has written frequently for Statistics in Medicine and Biometrics; Daniel Kasprzyk, who wrote Panel Surveys for Wiley and David van Dyk of Imperial College London who has written for Statistical Analysis and Data Mining.

Other candidates include Jessica Utts of University of California-Irvine for President-Elect and Hal Stern, also of University of California-Irvine for Publications Board Representative.
