2nd Winchester Conference on Trust, Risk, Information and the Law

The privacy arms race is the theme of this year’s conference. Battles over data and privacy are already raging and will continue to do so into the future. The race between law and technology - will the law always lose? Why don’t we trust the State with our personal data? Do public and private still exist? Open data and privacy: where should the red line be drawn? Data accountability, personal data stores and social machines: ways to win? These are just some of the issues that will be explored.

Confirmed key note speakers:

Dr Kieron O’Hara, Senior Research Fellow in Electronics & Computer Science, University of Southampton will open proceedings with an address on the Right-to-be-Forgotten
Professor Christopher Hankin, Director, Institute for Security Science and Technology, Imperial College London will address the conference on ‘Future Identities’.
