The Popular Autonomous University of Puebla (PUASP) will host the XXIX International Forum on Statistics from 29 September to 2 October 2014 with the theme "Statistics in the Social Sciences."

In this forum the Mexican statistical community and colleagues from other countries will be able to come together to share the results of their professional experiences and research, and promote the exchange of ideas.

A pre-forum event on 29 and 30 September, as well as short courses will be offered. Original research and applications of statistical methods in various subject areas will also be presented through thematic sessions, free contributions and poster sessions.

The objective is to bring together the community of statisticians from all sectors of society, in particular, academia, government and industry, as well as researchers from around the world to facilitate professional exchanges, sharing and presenting the latest knowledge and innovations in statistics. This year special emphasis will be placed on applications of statistics in the social sciences.
