An introduction to the next generation of web technologies

This course introduces the next generation of open data technologies, designed to enable intelligent publication, discovery and use of open data. This course aims to highlight opportunities to quickly and efficiently exploit open data for applications in government, business and society.

Central to the week is ensuring participants discover opportunities to expose high quality open data in their own organisation or domain and discover how to integrate this with the global information environment.

In order to ensure data is usable we need more than 5-star linked open data. The ODI’s Open Data Certificates (ODC) provides a phase two best practice guideline for publishing high quality, highly trusted, highly re-usable data. Key to the course is enabling participants to move from publishing and interacting with Pilot and Standard level ODC data and enabling them to become Open Data Experts.
