Call for Papers: Optimal and Specialized Design of Experiments
Submission deadline: Monday, 30 June 2025
Optimal Design of Experiments (DoE) construction strategies allow experimenters to tailor their designs to the specific objectives of their experiments. Historically, classical designs were available for particular design regions, experiment sizes and balanced common design criteria. With the advent of improved search algorithms and construction methods, experimenters have additional choices for selecting a design to meet their needs. In this special issue, we invite contributions that showcase the flexibility of DoE strategies across a wide variety of experimental scenarios, including pilot studies, screening, modeling, optimization and confirmation experiments.
We invite submissions of original research papers, review articles, and case studies that showcase novel approaches, methodologies, and practical implementations of DoE methods.
Contributions to this special issue may include the following areas, among many others:
- Development of new optimal DoE methods
- New optimality criteria for specialized cases
- Case studies illustrating successful implementation of specialized designs
- Algorithmic improvements to existing optimal design construction approaches
