We are happy to announce a Special Issue of Applied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry (ASMBI) on “Advancing Data Science in the AI Era: New Data, New Methods, and Responsible Impact”, dedicated to the topical areas featured in the SDS2026 Conference on March 30-April 1, 2026 in Caserta, Italy. Please see the following website for details: https://sds2026.sis-statistica.it/
In line with the main themes of the SDS2006 conference, this special issue aims at publishing high quality contributions on the recent advances in statistical modeling, data science, and AI-driven methodologies, with a focus on both theoretical developments and real-world applications. Contributions that explore the integration of statistical thinking with modern AI tools, as well as issues of interpretability, fairness, and data quality, are particularly welcome.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Statistical fairness
- Responsible AI and ethical data analysis
- Data overlap, and data integration imbalanced data
- Uncertainty quantification
- Supervised and unsupervised learning
- Bayesian methods
- Causal inference
- Temporal and spatio-temporal modelling and forecasting
- Model robustness
- Sustainability-oriented data science
- Interpretable, explainable, and trustworthy AI methods
- Applications of AI in official statistics and public policy.
All submissions will go through the standard, selective review process of ASMBI. The deadline for submissions is July 31 2026 through the journal submission portal: https://wiley.atyponrex.com/journal/ASMB
Please follow the ASMBI author submission guidelines given on the ASMBI website and click on the box of submissions to special issues, mentioning “SDS2026” when prompted.
The guest editors of this special issue are Raffaele Mattera (raffaele.mattera@unicampania.it), Mariangela Sciandra (Mariangela.sciandra@unipa.it), and Rosanna Verde (rosanna.verde@unicampania.it). The guest editors hope that you will find it interesting to contribute to this special issue and look forward to your contributions.
