Teaching Statistics Announce Their 2021 Prizes

Teaching Statistics have announced their 2021 prize winners.

C Oswald George Prize for 2021

Teaching Statistics are happy to announce that the 2021 C Oswald George prize has been awarded to Mairéad Hourigan and Aisling Leavy for their paper Interrogating a measurement conjecture to introduce the concept of statistical association in upper elementary education.

The C Oswald George prize is awarded for the best paper published in Teaching Statistics in the previous year.

Peter Holmes Prize for 2021

Teaching Statistics are happy to announce that the 2021 Peter Holmes prize has been awarded to Thomas Fanshawe for his paper Discovering experimental design: An interactive teaching exercise using Fisher’s tea-tasting experiment.

Each year, the Peter Holmes prize is awarded for the paper in Teaching Statistics which best demonstrates excellence in motivating practical classroom activity.

Teaching Statistics Trust prize for 2021 special issue

Teaching Statistics are happy to announce that the Teaching Statistics Trust has awarded a prize for the best paper in the 2021 special issue, Teaching Data Science and Statistics: foundation and introductory, to Anna Fergusson and Chris Wild for their paper On traversing the data landscape: Introducing APIs to data-science students.
