Scandinavian Journal of Statistics has published a new virtual issue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the journal.
SJS published its first issue in 1974 and was founded by the Nordic Statistical Societies to show that statistical research was active in Scandinavia and to provide an outlet for this research. The scope of SJS was to publish research on statistical theory and its applications, including probability. SJS has always been an international journal that aimed to publish articles from researchers all around the world.
The collection of 20 articles published between 1997 and 2022 has been collected by our current Finnish Editors, Sangita Kulathinal, Jaakko Peltonen and Mikko J. Sillanpää, and provides a fine demonstration of the breadth and quality of papers published in the journal.
