2013 Balfour Lecture

The Genetics Society has announced that the 2013 Balfour Lecture will be awarded to Dr Simon Myers (University of Oxford). The Balfour Lecture, named after the Genetics Society’s first President, is an award to mark the contributions to genetics of an outstanding young investigator.

Simon also recently won the Wellcome Trust New Investigator Award for his work in the "Development of statistical and experimental approaches to understand the roles of recombination and migration in human biology and disease risk".
